The Saskatoon & District Kinettes are excited to host our 2nd Annual Battle of the Bunnocks Tournament, July 2oth in Saskatoon, at Umea Vast Sportsfield! We’d love for you to join us at our FUNdraiser!
What is bunnock, you say? Watch this video here for a brief look at bunnock (aka bones), filmed at the World Tournament held in the small Saskatchewan town of Macklin every year! This popular tournament has people from all over the world coming to play, growing the town to almost double it’s size every year for the weekend! Why not come out to our tournament in July, before the World Tournament in August? Great practice!
This tournament is a FUNDRAISER for organizations in Saskatoon. Last year these two amazing life-saving organizations benefitted in our province: STARS and Saskatchewan Air Ambulance. After the incident in Humboldt, SK, we wanted to help raise money, and helping these services who helped save lives at the accident seemed like the best way for us to be “Serving the Community’s Greatest Need”.
This year we have selected Pride Home as the recipient of our FUNdraiser! Pride home is a one of a kind housing in Canada. A place for LGBTQ youth to find housing, support and community. We are very excited to be partnering with them this year! Lots of fun things will be coming up over the next few months and we will unveil some of the other fun things that we have planned!
Gather your team/squad of four, all ages are welcome, and come out to play at the UMEA Vast Sports Fields (behind the Lawson Heights Mall)! We will have a canteen out to quench your hunger, and beer gardens (All ages with a guardian) to quench your thirst! We will also have a 50/50 and a Blind Calcutta for your chances to win some extra cash! Tournament winners will receive cash and/or prizes for the top three teams in each pool.
